Thanks to watching "Who Do You Think You Are", that new genealogy tv show on NBC, I decided to try and see what I could find out about my Dad's family. As I was going back I found that I have a Great Grandmother named Sara.
That in and of itself isn't what made me go wow - what did was the fact my Great Grandfather was her second husband. Her first husband died in the Civil War. So, now you're going ok why are you writing a post about that?
My first published book was Sarah's Story - Time Displacement Corps Book 1. Sarah went back and was living in South Alabama prior to the Civil War. My Great Grandmother was in South Alabama during that time as well. Opposite side of the state but there.
When I wrote the book I had no idea about Great Grandmother Sara. Just a strange coincidence.

Great news and other stuff
Well, this morning while doing my morning email checks I discovered Sarah's Story had been nominated for a Short Novel Award at Red Roses for Authors - http://redrosesforauthors.blogspot.com/2009/12/christmas-awards-2009.html Instructions on how to vote are on the post -- so if you liked the book, please vote.
I'm trying to finish up Afternoon Surprise an under 2k erotic short and the first rough of Tales of the Rikashi book 4. So, why is it no surprise that I get a great opening for a Steam Punk story? Because that is what Musie does....
The opening?
The weight of the derringer in her pocket calmed (don't know her name yet) as she walked towards the docks.

Sarah's Story News

Sarah's Story released on May 21st. That day I was guest blogging on four different blogs, bitting my nails about how the book would do and dealing with no sleep.
Nothing has ever made me as nervous or excited as my very first release date. It was something
I'd dreamed about for years and that day it became a reality! But the day wasn't over yet. At 5PM Sarah's Story made the Red Rose Best Sellers List! Where it has risen and fallen for the past week. Sometimes it was off the list, but most of the time Sarah's Story stayed on it. It is also the number 1 Time Travel Romance at Red Rose Publishing!

Sometimes it was off the list, but most of the time Sarah's Story stayed on it. It is also the number 1 Time Travel Romance at Red Rose Publishing! While all of that is fantastic and I'm supremely honored by the response it's getting - I'm not done yet. There are other stories that need to be written and my desire to see Sarah's Story in print.
Why do I want print? It's not that I think print is better than ebook. I have most of my favorite author's books in bothe print and ebook. It's that I want to hold it in my hand, maybe that will make this incredible journey finally feel real. Maybe it won't.
Maybe everyday for the rest of my I will wake up and rush to the Red Rose Publishing site and look to see my book listed there to prove it isn't a dream.

Those handsome men of romance novels
You want to know a secret?
The best part of being a romance author is all the romance heroes! Really! You get to design your perfect man and when you finish that novel - you get to do it again! So I thought I'd introduce you to some of my leading men!
Let's start with Captain Matthew Barrington - the hero of my April 23rd release Sarah's Story. I don't have a picture of him - because he's based on my personal hero of 21 years - my husband. He's funny, sweet, mischievious and dependable.
The next hero is Jett Houston. He's the hero of the book I cowrote with my good friend Antonia Tiranth and the third book in her series. Jett is the foulest mouthed and stubbornest hero I've ever tried to write! But he is so completely loveable, you can't help but fall in love with him. AND he's a major hottie. He showed up while I was listening to Black Velvet and the song fits him so well. In fact, it became the title of the book! We're just waiting for the editor to get back to us on if it's accepted or not.So, I'm off to meet my next hero to fall in love with! All I know right now is his name is Ryan and he might be a wolf shifter! But meeting the guys is half the fun!
